New Ring of Honor Tag Team Champions were crowned Friday night at ROH’s Supercard of Honor pay-per-view. After an intense “Reach for the Sky” ladder match, the Lucha Brothers emerged victorious. With their victory, Penta el Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix captured the ROH Tag Titles for the first time. They succeed The Briscoes as tag champions.

After the match, the Lucha Brothers were greeted by Mark Briscoe and FTR’s Dax Wheeler and Cash Harwood, on the entrance stage. The ROH Tag Team Championship was last contested at ROH’s Final Battle pay-per-view, where The Briscoes beat FTR in a brutal dog collar match that capped off their trilogy of matches for the ROH Tag Titles over the course of 2022. Tragically, just a month after the match, Jay Briscoe passed away after a car accident. The match at Supercard of Honor was held in honor of Jay’s memory.

Mark announced the match on “AEW Rampage” a little under a month ago, while also announcing that he would be relinquishing the titles. Additionally, the design of the championships that was last carried by The Briscoes was retired. The new titles were the ones hung above the ring for tonight’s match.

The ladder match featured a number of high-octane spots, including Dante Martin of Top Flight taking a Canadian Destroyer through multiple tables. In the end, the Lucha Brothers overcame Top Flight, The Kingdom, Aussie Open, and La Faccion Ingobernable to reach for the sky and win the ROH World Tag Team Championship.

With Andrade El Idolo promising to bring in a mystery masked team to dethrone Lucha Bros. for the AAA World Tag Team Titles on last night’s AEW Dynamite, your new AAA Tag Champs are Las Super Ranas.

Of course, Las Super Ranas, aka The Super Frogs, were actually the FTR tandem of Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler.

The match itself was a barnburner, with FTR looking to slow down their opponents at every turn, while Lucha Bros. pulled out plenty of their usual crazy offense to try and retain the gold. It took a belt shot from Tully Blanchard and a Brainbuster from Dax to Rey Fenix to get the W for the former Revival.

Taking to Twitter, the new AAA Tag Team Champs were quick to celebrate their victory:

It was later revealed how MJF had loaned FTR to Andrade for the evening, with the one-time NXT Champion having paid Freidman for the use of Max’s Pinnacle brothers.

Elsewhere on last night’s Dynamite, Malakai Black defeated a spirited Dante Martin, Jon Moxley made quick work of Wheeler YUTA, The SuperKliq beat The Dark Order’s John Silver, Alex Reynolds and Evil Uno, Kiera Hogan tapped out to Penelope Ford, and Bryan Danielson bested Bobby Fish.

This most recent Dynamite offering also furthered the rivalries between Hangman Page and Kenny Omega, Hikaru Shida and Serena Deeb, Ruby Soho and Penelope Ford, Britt Baker and Anna Jay/Tay Conti, and MJF and Darby Allin/Sting. We also got official confirmation of the brackets for the upcoming AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament.

It appears the seeds have been planted for a future tag team match pitting CM Punk & Bryan Danielson against AEW World Tag Team Champions, The Lucha Brothers.

Punk initially proposed the idea while conducting a Twitter Q&A on Friday. When asked to name his top 3 dream matches in AEW, Punk named singles bouts against AEW World Champion Kenny Omega and Danielson, and a Mask/Titles Vs. Hair/Beard Tag Team Match featuring him & Bryan vs. Lucha Bros in Mexico City.

On Saturday, Penta El Zero M also floated the idea of the match happening at a future AAA Triplemania event. Penta asked his followers on Instagram their opinion on the potential dream bout.

Punk & Bryan teamed briefly in the WWE during late 2013, feuding with The Wyatt Family and The Shield. At Survivor Series 2013, Punk & Bryan defeated Eric Rowan & Luke Harper in a Tag Team Match.

This past Friday on AEW Rampage: Grand SlamPunk defeated Powerhouse Hobbs in his first televised pro wrestling match in over 7 years.
