In his weekly appearance on Busted Open Radio, AEW President Tony Khan talked about trying to make AEW the best working environment. Khan said the keys were trying to keep things light and most importantly, great food before and after the show.

“It’s a great place to work,” Khan said. “I’m proud of that. We try to make it a great place to work and make everyone happy off camera. I try to make it a good show for the fans and then when the show’s done, however it goes, I try to make it a good trip every time for the people who come. By making it a great work place, by trying to keep it fun and light, and also by having great catering before, and especially after the shows. I really believe after everyone puts in the good work to have really strong catering. It’s something I think people really appreciate. You can underrate that. After a long taping or a great show, there’s nothing better than great catering.”

After Khan talked a bit about the Jon Moxley-Yuji Nagata match from last week’s show. In a day full of AEW news, he then revealed one last bit of information regarding Moxley’s music for tonight’s episode of Dynamite.

“Now here’s a fun story,” Khan said. “He (Moxley) did not know I had ‘Wild Thing.’.. And I’ve got some more news for you. I pulled something else off in the last week. I got the Major League version. We got the Major League version. We nailed it last week but I love what we have. And it’s actually kind of cool and immortal, the Nagata match we’ll always remember the Troggs, the classic version.

“I think it was perfect for that night, cause Jon didn’t know it was coming. Then after, the adrenaline when he was coming in, he didn’t get to think about it much. But after he was like ‘was that a flute?’ Then he was like ‘oh man that’s awesome.’ I saw him after and he was like ‘that was pretty cool’.”

All Elite Wrestling gave Jon Moxley a new entrance theme for last night’s Dynamite, as the reigning IWGP United States Champion hit the ring to The Troggs’ Wild Thing for his match with Yuji Nagata.

Moxley had previously used the Violent Idols’ instrumental track, Unscripted Violence, for the duration of his AEW stay. Now, it appears that Tony Khan has scored another licensed song for use in his promotion – though this is yet to be confirmed.

March saw Khan acquire the rights to The Pixies’ Where Is My Mind? for Orange Cassidy. The AEW president has also licensed Baltimora’s Tarzan Boy for Jungle Boy, as well as securing Ol’ 55 by Tom Waits for use in Brodie Lee tribute packages.

In wrestling, Wild Thing is best known as the entrance theme of the legendary Atushi Onita. Many a parallel can be drawn between the deathmatch icon and Moxley, particularly after Revolution 2021’s exploding barbed wire bout, from their similar violent swagger to their shared fondness for leather jackets. Entrance music is now another.

Onita appeared briefly on AEW television in the build to Revolution, putting the exploding deathmatch’s threat level over.

Matt Hardy came out to new entrance music at a WWE house show yesterday.

The 43-year-old’s new theme – a sequence from Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata – was unveiled on Twitter by a fan who attended the event.

The piece of music is the same one he walked out to during his run as “Broken Matt” in TNA, the gimmick that he has started using on Raw over recent weeks.

After a protracted legal battle with his ex-employers, Hardy now goes under the name of “Woken Matt”.

His burgeoning feud with Bray Wyatt is so far proving to be one of the most popular WWE storylines of the year, with many believing it could run all the way to April’s WrestleMania 34.

Clearly, a makeover of some kind was needed after Hardy originally returned, alongside brother Jeff, under the familiar “Team Xtreme”-era guise.

But the introduction of a new entrance would appear to confirm that the company sees his new role as a long-term one.

It may also have implications for Jeff, currently nursing a long-term shoulder injury, who could perhaps embark on a singles run of his own when he returns next year.
