The Golden State Warriors took home the Larry O’Brien Trophy in more ways than one.
Within a few hours of the Warriors’ title-clinching victory in Game 6 last season, team owner Joe Lacob apparently took the prize home and brought it to bed with his fiancee Nicole.
“I had made a promise to myself (that) I would sleep with the trophy that night,” Lacob told Kelly E. Carter of Haute Living. “Nicole and I did sleep with it.”
Did they do anything else besides sleep with the trophy?
“I’ll leave it to the imagination,” Lacob said with a grin. “We had a lot of fun with it.”
To future champions who dream of kissing basketball’s greatest prize: you’ve been warned.
