While the Florida Panthers entertain offers for the first overall selection in the upcoming NHL draft, General Manager Dale Tallon and his scouts have zeroed in on their likely selection if they fail to get the offer they’re looking for.
Harvey Fialkov sent out the following tweet on twitter stating: Panthers Source tells Sun Sentinel if they don’t like offers for no.1 pick then most likely they’ll go for D Aaron Ekblad #FlaPanthers
Whether or not this information is being used as a ruse to throw teams off or to up the ante in regards to a trade is yet to be determined; however, if the Panthers do decide to draft Ekblad, they will add a potential franchise defensemen to a group of talented young forwards.
Either way, The Panthers are in a good spot in advance of the festivities on June 27.
