It’s been nine seasons since the Jacksonville Jaguars posted a record better than 8-8, and they’ve had enough of it.

The Jaguars are under new leadership with head coach Doug Marrone and vice president Tom Coughlin, causing an increased dissatisfaction with the team just going through the motions.

“Guys are sick and tired of being below average and not being successful when we feel as though we have the ability to be a good team,” Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles said Wednesday. “We haven’t been. It’s time to make a change. It’s not going to happen overnight. You have to go do something about it.”

Jacksonville has been teasing a turnaround for the past year after finding some offensive success in 2015 and signing a troupe of free agents last March. The Jaguars stuck to their routine this offseason, adding Pro Bowlers Calais Campbell and A.J. Bouye in free agency.

On paper, the Jaguars appear to have a team capable of winning their division in 2017, but it will be dependent on the performance of Bortles above all others.
