Could the Philadelphia 76ers move the No. 3 pick?

Sixers president Bryan Colangelo is keeping all his options open with three weeks to go before the 2017 NBA draft, and that includes potentially flipping their coveted third overall pick.

“I think that should we move or if there’s a transaction that comes out that gives us a chance to perhaps increase what impact No. 3 can have in terms of its return, I think we will look at it,” Colangelo told Keith Pompey of Philly.com.

“There’s some discussions that have been fairly interesting.”

Philadelphia is already packed to the brim with young talent, but they have an obvious hole at point guard. Unfortunately, the top two guards in Markelle Fultz and Lonzo Ball will likely go to the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers, respectively, leaving Colangelo with a tough decision.

The third pick could still be used on point guards De’Aaron Fox or Dennis Smith Jr., but both players come with question marks. That pick could also be used on a small forward like Jayson Tatum or Josh Jackson, but that still leaves them with a hole at the point.

Colangelo could attempt to trade up for Ball or Fultz, or trade down to collect more assets if he’s unswayed by the options at the third pick. Either way, he’s keeping an open mind.

“All options, as you look to improve your basketball team,” Colangelo said.
