The New York Knicks may have finally sat down with a Porzingis – just not Kristaps.

His brother Janis recently – who serves as his brother’s agent – met with team president Phil Jackson to address some of the problems that led to Kristaps skipping his exit meeting at the conclusion of the regular season, Stefan Bondy of the Daily News reports.

Apparently the long sit-down between Janis and the Zen Master didn’t resolve much. The latter was reportedly unwavering in his plan for the club, which includes the triangle offense and him becoming more involved with the coaching staff.

Though it remains to be seen exactly what issues Janis and Jackson discussed, it was previously reported that his brother – a 21-year-old former lottery pick – opted out of the meeting due to team dysfunction.

Janis had responded to the subsequent trade rumors, telling reporters that his younger brother “wants to stay” in the Big Apple as long as the Knicks “create an environment where he can develop and grow as a player and win.”

While Kristaps echoed that sentiment, he also tweeted praise for the Los Angeles Clippers before deleting the post and purporting his account was hacked.

Last week, head coach Jeff Hornacek expressed confidence his starting power forward will still be a Knick in 2017-18. However, the bench boss still hadn’t talked to The Unicorn at that point about the missed meeting, adding he reached out to him but didn’t receive a text back.

Kristaps averaged 18.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, two blocks, and 1.5 dimes in 66 contests in his sophomore campaign for the Knicks, who missed the playoffs for a fourth straight year. The big man’s currently in his native Latvia, and will compete with the national team in the European Championships this summer.
