There’s probably no bigger fan in the world of The Miz than The Miz: he’s a show-boating, arrogant delight of a heel who is very much high on his own supply. So it’s no real surprise that he’d consider Deadpool to be his perfect film role.

The current star of the terrible Marine franchise spoke to Uproxx to confirm that ‘Pool is the one that got away:

“Obviously, Deadpool is already taken and Ryan Reynolds did an absolutely fantastic job. That was always my dream role ever since I saw the video game seven years ago, I was like ‘Oh my god, I want to play this guy!’ But, Ryan Reynolds took it and knocked it out of the park and did an absolutely incredible job, so I can’t fault him at all. But I think anyone would want to do Marvel or DC, maybe WWE can combine with them and do something, but you never know.”

Surely, they’d just use a gimmick suspiciously similar to Deadpool and never mention the origin?

Anyway, Mizanin was pressed further on who his ideal role would be, and came up with Booster Gold, the show-off time-travelling DC hero who would actually suit his particular charms pretty well. he says the part “would be pretty fun”, which is a hell of an understatement.

He might just get a shot too, if he gets an agent on the case, as DC are currently making a Booster Gold TV show (possibly with Blue Beetle also involved, but possibly not, depending on who you ask), with Greg Berlanti involved (according to the man himself via The Hollywood Reporter. It will be written by Zack Stentz, who wrote an episode of Flash, and it shouldn’t be too far away from a pilot.
