As the Oakland Raiders set out in hopes of capitalizing on their newfound Super Bowl potential, the team will be faced with the distraction of a looming move to Las Vegas.

The way Derek Carr sees it, the focus until the move will be on what the team can do for its fans in the Bay Area.

“We have our fans here that we need to take care of,” Carr said at the beginning of the team’s offseason program Monday, according to Michael Gehlken of The Las Vegas Review-Journal. “… I’m giving everything to this city.”

A potential result of the team confirming its plans to eventually skip town is, of course, a loyal fan base potentially backing off with its support of the team. Carr doesn’t anticipate that being a widespread issue.

“Ninety-nine percent of our fans will ride with us wherever we go,” he added, via Vic Tafur of The San Francisco Chronicle.

Carr, who spent the offseason recovering from a boken fibula, added that he’s already back to doing everything his teammates are doing in the early stages of the workout program.

His healthy presence will be imperative for the Raiders’ chances of chasing down a Lombardi Trophy at some point over the next few seasons before making the move to Las Vegas.
