ESPN is turning to a trio of broadcast talent to step in and head up NFL coverage following the conclusion of a 31-year run led by Chris Berman.

Samantha Ponder, Suzy Kolber, and Trey Wingo will all take on prominent studio host positions as Berman moves into his new role, the network announced in a release Thursday.

“We have three exceptional hosts in Suzy, Sam and Trey, who will usher in this new era of NFL studio coverage on ESPN,” said Stephanie Druley, ESPN’s senior VP of studio and event production. “They each have a unique style and approach, yet they all share a passion for the game of football that is evident to viewers. We look forward to this group being the face of our NFL studio coverage for many years ahead on ESPN.”

Ponder will host Sunday NFL Countdown, Kolber takes over Monday Night Countdown in addition to the halftime and postgame programs, while Trey Wingo inherits the lead role on ESPN’s three-day draft coverage.

Berman’s departure was initially reported to be a retirement, but ESPN announced earlier this year that the longtime broadcaster would be moving into a role that still includes a number of different appearances.
