Is another homecoming in the works?

Indiana Pacers small forward Paul George has considered two destinations when he becomes a free agent in 2018: He could re-sign with Indiana, or he could flee for the Los Angeles Lakers, sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.

George, a four-time All-Star, was born and bred in Los Angeles. He and his family loved the Lakers growing up, and Wojnarowski notes they gravitated toward Magic Johnson, who now just happens to head up the Lakers.

Indiana also holds intrigue for two reasons. One, the Pacers are the only team George has ever known and he remains loyal. Two, the Pacers could conceivably offer him more money than any other franchise should George qualify for an All-NBA team within the next two years.

George could be on the move before he makes his 2018 free-agency decision. The Pacers are reportedly gauging the market for the four-time All-Star and may flip him for future assets if George isn’t amenable to a long-term extension.
