Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shahid Khan denounced an executive order given by President Donald Trump that banned citizens from seven Muslim-majority countries from visiting the United States.

A federal judge temporarily blocked the order signed by Trump, sending the president into a day-long Twitter spree, infuriated by the move.

Khan, a practicing Muslim, spoke out against the ban Saturday.

“The bedrock of this country are immigration and really a great separation between church and state,” Khan said via Ken Belson of The New York Times.

Commissioner Roger Goodell did not make a statement on the order and Khan said he understood why.

“We have to look at it based on what can we do to make a difference,” Khan said. “And right now, there are enough forces in power and play that we have to see how this thing ends up.”

Khan, who became a U.S. citizen in 1991, is one of the few NFL figures to take a stand against Trump’s executive order and it remains to be seen whether the league will make a statement.
